THE Disruptors

The company that changes the traditional way an industry operates in a new and effective way.

Let us offer a glimpse into our world, our culture, our mission. In February 2019, Rick Anderson and Brady Hughs saw an opportunity to dare we say…disrupt. The goal was lofty; the vision was ambitious. Redefine an industry, do it different, do it better, and do it right.
We assembled a team of dreamers, like-minded people – a group who believed that the impossible was possible and who looked at every turn as an opportunity to question the norm and expect more.

Change started to take shape; the disruption began. Real estate agents representing every price point and area experienced something different and inspiring – something truly special. Sales grew, services and staff increased, and the industry noticed.

All of a sudden we looked around and noticed we were doing it. We were redefining what real estate marketing could be, but we knew we were not done yet. The disruption has just begun and the experience only gets better from here. This new family of dreamers is committed to creating the marketing that others can’t and the experience that others won’t. We are devoted to giving our real estate agents and homeowners a full-service professional marketing solution.

Meet the disruptors

Allow us to introduce our team of dreamers. Discover how this group has fought to redefine the real estate marketing industry by committing to do it different, do it better and do it right.

If you had asked Brady Hughs, a successful portrait photographer, 5 years ago if he would would work in the world of real estate photography the answer would’ve been a blunt, “No.” Brady had always wanted to associate himself as an artist; a photographer gifted in capturing a person’s personality in his portraits.

Brady remembered the day vividly. He had just finished producing a film on bullying for a local school district. He was having a conversation at a local restaurant with Rick Anderson, a highly successful businessman and video editor. Together they asked “Could we merge our expertise and disrupt the current trend in real estate marketing with Brady’s strengths in video and photography, and Rick’s in business development and video editing?” After an initial meeting it was done, and we officially started an all-inclusive real estate marketing solution: Visual Media.

We quickly surrounded ourselves with a whole support team of photographers and editors who understand the importance of doing it better and doing it right. Watching their commitment to this redefinition, to disrupting the industry, only left us hungrier and more motivated to do our part. We began amassing our gear and building a studio around what could be, as we questioned the current marketing trends and recreated them.

You might be asking, “Why? Why redefine and disrupt real estate marketing?” Our answer is simple. With so many agents and today’s sellers looking for something better and something different, marketing had to change. Buyers and sellers can take a virtual stroll through properties long before they even contact an agent. They are educated and informed and have grown to expect more from those who represent them. Real estate sales are being redefined from the inside out. We wanted to show our real estate clients what a full-service real estate marketing experience could be, regardless of their listing price point.

We took risks and opened new offices – our clients noticed, and our competitors definitely did.

We are filled with gratitude as we recount and reflect where we were just a short time ago. Visual Media assists our agents in showing their prospective sellers that the status quo in real estate marketing doesn’t have to be accepted.

Brady served 26 years in the US Army as an Army Ranger and as a Officer in the MN Army National Guard. Brady simultaneously earned two Masters degrees and worked as a school social worker for 22 years. Brady retired from Military service and started his photography company after returning from a deployment to Iraq in 2010. Through his passion of photography and storytelling he grew quite a following and eventually explored the idea of video production. It was here the idea of Visual Media began.

Rick started his career in radio working first in the twin cities and then managing and eventually owning a station in Central Minnesota. During that time he also started a school fundraising company with his wife Renee called The Chip Shoppe. The business started on their garage and as it started to really grow they partnered with Mark and Lisa Dieltz. Over a 10 year span the company grew to 27 million in sales. In 2017 they sold the company. Rick is passionate about business and the opportunity of turning ideas into reality. The new venture with Visual Media has been exciting and Rick is really looking forward to growing this business regionally and perhaps nationally. When not working Rick enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his wife Renee and 4 kids.

Jenny worked as a mental health counselor for several years, and most recently within a local school district. As fulfilling as it was to interact and help children with life’s trials, it was time for a change, a 180* in a more creative direction. Jenny discussed the vision of what would become Visual Media with Brady and Rick, and was immediately intrigued to have the opportunity to be a part of cutting-edge real estate marketing through photography, while still using her communicative people skills she had gained through her education. She was thrilled to be a on board with the team of dreamers and signed on for the new adventure, never looking back!

Photography was an interest of mine that turned into a passion. I have met many so many interesting people through photography, and it has brought me to even wilder destinations. My camera has helped me capture life long memories from my travels. While backpacking through Central America I used my camera as a tool to help pay for my travel expenses. I would take pictures of hotels and restaurants for them to use on their websites in exchange for a place to stay and free meals. This is when I realized I wanted to do photography full time and help people showcase their brands in the best light possible. I love working with Visual Media because everyday has new challenges, and I’m always meeting fun and exciting people.

My love for photography began growing up in front of the camera modeling for my dad as he grew his photography business. Tagging along on family, wedding and senior photo shoots inspired me to learn more about being on the other end of the camera. Being the freedom loving person that I am, I moved to Florida at 19 and began to explore my interests in marketing and social media. When my dad began telling me about his new business venture, I packed up only what could fit in my Jeep and drove back home to work by his side again. I am now working full time with Visual Media as a photographer and social media manager. I can truly say I have found the perfect career to combine my passions and adventurous lifestyle at Visual Media. To top it all off, I get to work next to my dad once again.

Zach began his photography career as a teen in the Twin Cities, after a sports-related injury guided his interests elsewhere. His earlier photography was fueled by social media and a smartphone, frequently visiting unique architectural locations often unseen by the public eye. His love for photography progressed and transformed when he attended the University of Minnesota Duluth. There he received his B.F.A. in Digital Art and Photography while also minoring in Marketing. Shortly after graduating, Zach came across Visual Media and saw an immediate opportunity to pursue his passion for photography and architecture.

Mark and Lisa have been a marketing, sales and photography team for over 25 years. The experience helped this team make well over millions of dollars of profit for their customers. Show casing, customizing programs and ideas to fit the needs of their clients so they can achieve the goals necessary to meet the success they desire. “Joining the team at Visual Media has been a perfect fit for us. We can share our knowledge and experiences with our clients to help market and sell them and their business the way they need to and keep a head of their competition
